2026 Audi E-Tron GT Release Date, Specs, Redesign – It’s not often that you get to drive a million-dollar electric show car. Following the launch of its commercial E-Tron SUV, Audi has promised to release a new E-Tron GT, an electric grand tourer with true high-performance characteristics.

I feel like I’m wearing the GT instead of just sitting in it because of its high beltline and low seats. A digital instrument cluster is hidden behind the steering wheel in front of me, and a huge infotainment screen confronts me from the right. Vegan fake leather covers the flat top and bottom of the steering wheel. It feels great in my hands and has just the right amount of roughness to keep my palms from slipping around.
In actuality, a significant amount of the GT’s interior is composed of recyclable materials. Not a single inch of leather is used, and even the floor mats are made from recycled fishing nets. Outside, the GT looks best in profile because to its sloping roofline and enormous 22-inch wheels that reach all four corners. The air vents on the wheel arches have two functions: they enhance aerodynamics and they are aesthetically pleasing.
From the outside, the GT and the new A7 appear to be rather identical. The matrix LEDs with laser high beams give the headlights a brand-new appearance even if their overall design is the same.
Even while the E-Tron GT retains the six-sided grille found on all new Audis, its two-tone design with a honeycomb pattern is reminiscent of Audi’s aggressive RS cars. Yes, the huge E-Tron logo on the underside of the grille lights up.
I like how the car’s width is emphasized by the large LED taillights integrated into a full-wide light bar. (However, other Roadshow staff feel that for a car as sleek as an Audi, the taillights are a bit too Nissan Maxima.) In any event, by referencing the E-Tron SUV, this taillamp design attempts to visually connect them as brothers. A sturdy rear diffuser with an illuminated E-Tron emblem completes the look.

Engine & Performance
The E-Tron GT Concept includes two electric motors at each axle and is powered by a 90-kilowatt-hour battery. Audi claims that the GT’s impressive 590 horsepower allows it to hit 62 miles per hour in less than 3.5 seconds. The business claims that 800-volt wireless charging will also be available on the E-Tron GT. With a 20-minute charge, the latter ought to be able to extend its range by 200 miles.
I take a quick, police-escorted drive around downtown Los Angeles, but of course I can’t push the E-Tron GT to its limits. Furthermore, even though Audi stated that the GT will go into production in 2026, it is still very much a concept car and is consequently significantly more sensitive than a normal road car.
