Acceleration and braking are equal in the Nevera. The Nevera can decelerate at 0.4 g because to its most potent braking system, which delivers 300 kW of stopping power. Three rotary knobs with displays regulate the torque distribution, driving modes, and gear selection. The gadget boasts several interesting features, like rectangular air vents, a row of analog toggle switches, and various leather, carbon fiber, and billet aluminum accents, despite its simple overall design.
One feature I can’t test is the AI Driving Coach, which includes thirteen cameras, six radar modules, and twelve ultrasonic sensors running on Nvidia’s Pegasus operating system. They are not present because the Nevera does not need traditional traction and stability control systems. Instead, its four electric motors—one for each wheel—provide the most impressive torque-vectoring technology on the market. Even with the completely absurd performance, it is easy to leap off the line or accelerate while traveling swiftly. Torque vectoring eliminates tire slippage and the need to struggle with the steering to maintain control, resulting in the smoothest and fastest possible launch.
Launch control is not necessary because I can simply put the car in track mode and floor it. As I grow used to the car’s capabilities and learn to look farther over the horizon than normal, chaining together short stretches of mountain road quickly becomes second nature. The Rimac Nevera serves as an example of the potential efficiency of electric cars.
