2027 Ford Bronco Redesign, Specs, Interior  Despite its horse reputation, the Ford Bronco is actually a chameleon. Wherever you decided to take it—from the hardest terrain in Johnson Valley to the smoothly-paved road that led there— the Bronco fits in and handles everything with hunk-like beauty. All Broncos have four-wheel drive and either a turbo-four or a twin-turbo V-6 for power, and while neither is terribly fuel-efficient—nor able to make lovely engine sounds—they’re quick and responsive. With its Jack-of-all-trades mentality, the Bronco proves to be equal parts enjoyable lifestyle vehicle and ideal rock-crawling equipment.

Exterior & Interior 

First Row: Though wind noise is strong, the front seats are pleasant and wide, provoking nary a complaint from even our tallest colleagues throughout our long-term 40,000-mile Bronco test. The cabin is crammed with hard plastic, which never feels five-star, but we see why Ford choose it: This is a tough, open-air vehicle—note the removable doors and roof—and that material holds up well to abuse. Second Row: The back of the two-door, four-seat Bronco offers adequate capacity for two individuals to sit comfortably. The second row of the four-door features three seats and a lot more legroom. The four-door can contain more cargo than the two-door and can hold all of the SUV’s removable doors. If you want to remove the doors off the two-door Bronco while you’re driving it, you’ll have to fold down the back seats to get them home.

A 12.0-inch touchscreen running Ford’s Sync 4 software takes up the middle position of the dash. It permits over-the-air updates and lets users to connect to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps via the internet. Engine & Performance 

The 330-hp twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 preselects the 10-speed automatic gearbox, while the four is available with a seven-speed stick, should you be a devotee of do-it-yourself ratios. Unfortunately, neither engine enables a dynamic soundtrack. This is a real off-road machine, with a four-wheel-drive system that the driver must activate while driving off-road and, more crucially, remove when getting back onto pavement. Not only is its steering more accurate than that of the Jeep Wrangler—which has a live axle at both ends—but the Ford handles better overall and glides down the Interstate without having the frequent steering adjustments that are so bothersome in the Jeep. Like the Jeep, though, there is a lot of wind noise due to its upright windshield. Noteworthy options include gigantic 35-inch mud-terrain tires, beadlock-capable rims, electronic locking front and rear differentials, and an anti-roll-bar-disconnect system to prolong wheel travel. 2027 Ford Bronco Redesign

2027 Ford Bronco Fuel Economy

With an automatic transmission and four-cylinder engine, the Bronco earns estimates of, at most, 18 mpg city and 22 mpg highway. The manual reduces down the highway rating by 1 mpg. Surprisingly, a 6-cylinder on the Outer Banks is the most efficient Bronco for city driving, with a 19-mpg estimate, while it gets 21 mpg on the road. Adding the Sasquatch package puts the SUV’s fuel economy safely in the teens, though. From what we’ve experienced driving auto-equipped Broncos on our 75-mph fuel-economy route, these figures are on pace. 2027 Ford Bronco Redesign

2027 Ford Bronco Safety Features

Ford doesn’t equip the base Bronco with many driver-assistance features, but every model has automatic emergency braking, auto high lights, and a terrain-management system with at least five settings.

2027 Ford Bronco Release Date & Price 

The pricing of the 2027 Ford Bronco is projected to start around $43,000 and go up to $57,000 depending on the trim and accessories. The Big Bend trim is Spartan, while mid-range Black Diamond and Outer Banks trims give more comforts. However, if you are expecting to actually put your Bronco to work in some severe off-road terrain, the new RTR is a tempting choice. Ford claims that the RTR gives the best level of suspension performance accompanying the Bronco Raptor, and the RTR will likely cost roughly $13,000 less. 2027 Ford Bronco Redesign
