2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60 – Let’s meet the Porsche 911 GT3 – The GT3 is just as good at tearing up racing events as it is at trying to make you feel like a winner on that one really great freeway on-ramp near your family. It’s not the quickest, fastest, or the strong edition of a Porsche 911, however, the GT3 experience is all about never giving up and having a lot of fun.

This is especially important because it can be hard to tell the obvious differences between a few 911 models these days. The GT3 goes against this trend by having its own engine, transmission, and front suspension. Its 4.0-liter flat-6 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, and double-wishbone front suspension can’t be found in any other 911.

The GT3 is now the only 911 in the 992-generation that does not have a turbocharger. Its flat-six engine produces 502 hp as well as 347 pound-feet of torque without a turbocharger. The above means users can rev this engine as hard as they want and it will just keep going. 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60

Just before you shift up, touch the redline at 9,000 rpm to get the full endorphin rush that will send tingles down your spine. And when you’re not giving it hell, you can enjoy the steady-throttle midrange hum of the 4.0-liter engine. Porsche has a Bose audio update for $1,600, but why pay for it when there’s such a great soundtrack right behind your head?

The GT3’s 6 manual gearbox is great because it has a heavy clutch and a short-throw gearbox. This same automatic rev-matching characteristic that turns on in Sport mode is also great. (Many people don’t like this, and yet I don’t think it works all that well.) If I could be picky for a second, the shifter on the GT3 feels just that little, I do not even know if it’s lacking the metallic feel of the Cayman GT4’s shifter.

Porsche finally made its infotainment system work with Android Auto for 2023, but it can’t be using it wirelessly like Apple CarPlay. Driver-assistance technology is also very limited, with only traffic sign recognizing and parking sensors in the back as options. Again, though, it was a GT3, so who cares? 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60

I’m ready to decide now I’ve spent time in both the basic GT3 as well as the GT3 Touring and driven both the six-speed manual and the entirely voluntary seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic. If I were to buy the GT3 with wings, which might be the one most likely to be used on the track, I’d have the PDK.

It shifts faster than even the best manual driver, and it’s tuned just right for the GT3’s tricks. If I were to buy a GT3 Touring because let’s be truthful, this is the only way I’d do it, I’d get the manual transmission. The Touring is about good drives on good roads, that’s a recipe that’s best mixed with a stick. 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60

Even without a wing, the GT3 flies. This clever front suspension was taken from the 911 RSR race car. It gives the GT3 a balance that is out of this world and improves turn-in as well as feedback, especially in comparison to a more conventional MacPherson strut setup. The wheel is light as well as quick, and the summer tires, which are 255/35 in front and 315/30 in back, are hard to get off.

Also, the Lava Orange car in the picture does have the extra Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, which can be put on by the dealer. The GT3 comes with the standard, but still great, Cup 2 tires. Carbon ceramic brakes to black calipers cost $10,110 and look great with smooth 20-inch and front 21-inch rear wheels on this car. 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60

Unlike the other ceramic brakes, its GT3s aren’t a pain to control, at even slower speeds, such as because you’re just passing the time among stoplights because you’re not quite able to come home. With the chef’s-kisses front suspension, I have to keep telling myself enough to stop stopping so early before a turn. The GT3 can handle a lot so much speed than what I’m taking off. Over time, my brain gets used to Porsche’s skills as well as gets to know to trust them. But dude, wow, it’s amazing how quickly and smoothly this car can turn.

Does such good affect how comfortable it is to drive? You bet. Will that keep you from always trying to drive this car? Hell no. Even on its softest setting, the GT3’s chassis is pretty stiff, and it doesn’t like broken pavement or expansion joints. That doesn’t mean you can’t live there. That’s not half as bad as, speak, a Nissan GT-R. Just be doing yourself a favor as well as order the front axle system for $3,670 to save the GT3’s chin. It can be programmed and can turn on automatically based on GPS data. You’ll never again neglect it speed bump in the middle of your street.

The 2023 GT3 starts at $164,150, which includes a destination charge of $1,350 and a gas guzzler tax of $1,700. If you set up yours like mine, it will cost you just under $195,850. Did I mention that the Touring package, which looks better, is free? 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60

But here’s the crazy part: the price of less than $200,000 is kind of a steal. The GT3 holds its own against the best sports cars in the world. I’m talking about cars like the $330,000 Huracan STO, the $212,000 Maserati MC20, as well as the $326,050 AMG GT Black Series. It also doesn’t look too loud and provides you with a place to keep your suitcase. That has a lot going for it.

But much more than all of the other vehicles, the GT3 starts to feel friendlier and much more personable, like it’s easier to take out when you want. The GT3 is indeed the perfect driver’s car because of all of these things and more. It feels good and is the best, so you’ll want to start driving it all the time. 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 0 60
