2023 Volkswagen Arteon Horsepower – This Car Looks Awesome – In addition to being a car, the Volkswagen Arteon is a multi-purpose vehicle. It’s VW’s luxury car, thanks to its smooth ride and high-quality interior, but it’s also a practical family hatchback thanks to its large cargo area as well as hatchback design. With a new baseline turbo engine lifted straight from the Golf R, VW sincerely hopes to add a performance car to Arteon’s list of credentials for the year 2023.

Interior Design
Despite the Arteon’s mighty engine, its chassis isn’t as eager to get down as well as boogie when it’s hot. For this reason, even with the adaptive dampers set to their stiffest setting, the Arteon still lacks composure on winding canyon roads. The Arteon’s interior design remains unchanged for 2023, with haptic touch controls replacing most of the buttons. Despite my distaste for these, Arteon’s decor is well-crafted and well-organized. The seats in the front have perforated Nappa leather, and they’re heated and ventilated, but the seats in the back are only heated. In addition to the warmed steering wheel as well as the panoramic sunroof, there are a few other perks.
Although VW’s MIB3 entertainment systems system has basic wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, its 8-inch multimedia display is a little low-res and a little small. Fortunately, every Arteon comes equipped with VW’s Cockpit Pro as standard. Also included are cruise control to blind-spot tracking, automatic high-beam, rain-sensitive wiper systems, and parking assist, which is a big plus.

VW’s 2.0-liter turbo I4 generates 300 hp at 5,350 rpm as well as 295 torque at 2,000 rpm, up 32 horsepower and 37 pound-feet so over old Arteon’s motor. You get good, but not great power delivery here. There’s a noticeable lag when accelerating in the Arteon because of the engine’s heavy reliance on turbocharging; the Stinger 2.5T, for example, is much more snappy. But the Arteon is more fuel-efficient than the Korean competitor, and I’m confident that the EPA’s estimated city/highway/combined mileage ratings of 22 mpg and 25 mpg are accurate.

Along with a $1,195 travel charge, the starting price for a front-wheel drive, SE R-Line Arteon is $41,945. It costs as much as $46,745 for the base SEL R-Line and $50,745 for the top-end SEL Premium R-Line to get into the SEL. The Arteon is a good value compared to other comparably sized luxury vehicles, but the Kia Stinger is a far more exciting driver also and provides liftback features, making it a tough competitor.
