2024 Lamborghini Urus Specs: You Can Fling It Around In The Dirt – Despite its intimidating appearance and impressive performance, this Lamborghini Urus is surprisingly mild-mannered. This is way too mild. Thankfully, the Urus’s new Performante trim gives it a more aggressive character and boosts its acceleration to a level that’s difficult to match by any other SUV.
2024 Lamborghini Urus Changes
Exterior Design
A change in diet is the first step. The Performante sheds 104 pounds in comparison to the brand-new Urus S thanks to its carbon fiber roof as well as hood, light wheels, plus titanium exhaust. Similarly, the Performante does away also with SUV’s regular air suspension in favor of permanent steel springs, which results in more consistent cornering qualities at the expense of a slightly rougher ride. The Urus Performante’s handling and stability have been significantly enhanced with the addition of 0.6 inches to the front and rear tracks, 0.8 inches to the ride height, and ultra-grippy Pirelli P Zero tires.
The Urus Performante is a monster on the Vallelunga’s main track, which is 2.5 miles long. The Urus’s nose can be tucked neatly through tight corners thanks to the properly weighted and just never darty steering, whereas the rear-axle steering plus increased torque control help drive this SUV’s rump thru every turn. Because of the new Torsen central differential, more torque is sent to the rear than in the regular Urus, meaning lateral grip is excellent.
At Vallelunga’s long back straightaway, the optional 10-piston metal brake calipers impose restrictions on 17.4″ ceramic discs to quickly scrub speed. The more laps you put in, the more you understand how much additional speed you can take around each bend, however I wish the front seats were more firmly bolstered so I wouldn’t slip around so much.
The Urus’s Corsa drive mode is ideal for the circuit at Vallelunga since it relaxes the car’s traction control significantly, allowing for a little degree of oversteer that can still be managed. Now, if you want to see the Urus’s rear end do some wild things, take it off the beaten path and onto some dirt roads. The Urus Performante’s new Rally mode allows you to really let the tail out on corners, however, interestingly, it also disables full throttle application and countersteer adjustment for the apex of a turn. Never attempt this with Trofeo R tires unless you have an unlimited supply of spare, high-priced treads.
Interior Design
The carbon fiber sills plus wheel arch additions set the Performante apart from the regular Urus, and so does the spoiler that increases downforce by 38% in the back. The hideous tuning fork colored vanes on the grille have been eliminated, and the Performante now comes in the same range of stunning hues as the rest of the Lamborghini lineup. This shade of purple is gorgeous. 2024 Lamborghini Urus Specs
Alcantara suede covers the cockpit, steering wheel, plus seats, while the same two-screen infotainment system seen in the standard Urus is found in the middle stack. The in-car multimedia system is simply an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay–compatible skinning variant of Audi’s MMI interior technology. Back there, you’ll find a normal three-across bench; however, the Performante also offers two individual bucket seats, both of which could use some extra support. Everything’s baffling how it turned out this way.
2024 Lamborghini Urus Specs
The Urus Performante retains the same amount of power as the standard Urus. The Performante and the Urus S share the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that generates 658 hp and 628 lb-ft of torque, but the Performante’s 8 automated system shifts more quickly as well as the throttle is more responsive. With its lighter body and better tire traction, the Performante can reach 62 miles per hour within 3.3 seconds, whereas it takes the Urus S 3.5. Respect, if you will. 2024 Lamborghini Urus Specs
2024 Lamborghini Urus Price and Release Date
The base price of $264,672 (plus $3,995 for delivery) is only the beginnings of the personalization possibilities available for this Lamborghini. Lamborghini has not yet announced pricing for the Urus S in the United States, although it is expected to cost about $40,001. However, this is a necessary sacrifice for achieving supercar-level acceleration in a practical SUV, and the Urus Performante is better for it. 2024 Lamborghini Urus Specs
