2027 GMC Hummer EV Interior, Specs, Price – Electric luxury vehicles don’t get much more outlandish than the 2027 GMC Hummer EV. The original’s wide stance, huge tires, and strong diesel engine were, to put it bluntly, scary. The only real change to the new Hummer is its electric propulsion system, but otherwise it’s still enormous and intimidating.
The first electric GMC Hummer models from 2027 are already available for test drives. The first release is Edition 1, which was sold out in its original run and costs $110,295 + $1,595 for delivery. Versions with lower prices, ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, will be available later this year, in 2023 and 2024.
Edition 1 contains the most notable features. According to GMC, under ideal conditions, a battery pack with 205 kilowatt-hours of power can propel you 329 kilometers. The most powerful 350-kilowatt DC fast chargers are compatible with the 800-volt architecture, and GMC claims that it takes around 12 minutes to charge a Hummer to 100 miles on electric power. Using an average charging speed of 175 kW, the manufacturer claims that it will take 42 minutes to charge the battery from 20% to 80%. 2027 GMC Hummer EV Interior

Exterior & Interior
The Edition 1’s 205 kWh battery powers a pair of rear electric motors and a front electric motor. To top it all off, the system produces an incredible 1,200 pound-feet of torque and 1,000 horsepower. The nine-thousand-pound behemoth can reach sixty miles per hour in under three seconds when launched in Watts to Freedom mode. That is really absurd on a big car.
What exactly is its size? In 2027, GMC will release an electric vehicle with proportions over eight feet in length and width. Its width calls for three windshield wipers in addition to the legally mandated marker lights to maintain visibility.
Despite seeming more like a midsize truck due to its rear-wheel steering, the Hummer could give the impression of being difficult to handle off-road. The rear wheels of the Hummer can turn in any way, allowing it to be easily guided around any bend.
I can slalom over obstacles that a car of this size would clip, and the turning circle is a mere 37.1 feet in length. The unique rear-wheel steering makes it incredibly maneuverable off-road.
When the rear wheels of the Hummer work in tandem with the front wheels, the Crab Walk becomes an incredible manoeuvre. When I was behind the wheel, one of the most strange things I’ve ever seen was watching a car move in two directions at once. Compared to a huge truck flip, it’s stranger.
Goodyear tires of 35 inches in diameter and mounted on 18-inch wheels adorn the four corners of the Hummer. Although 37-inch tires are listed as an optional feature by GMC, I saw during my test drive that they were not accessible.
The most surprising thing about the Hummer is that it doesn’t have a spare tire. The designers at GMC told me that packing problems were to blame for the lack of a factory spare, but the car’s reputation as an off-road monster defies its claimed durability. Thanks be to the dealer, a spare tire carrier is now in the truck bed, but it shouldn’t come at a premium. 2027 GMC Hummer EV Interior
2027 GMC Hummer EV Specs
Engine & Performance
There are two dirt modes offered by the Hummer: Off-Road and Terrain. In case you ever need to unstick the truck (say, after getting it stuck), you may do so by selecting the Extract mode, which will raise the vehicle to its highest suspension setting. The greatest angle of approach for the Hummer EV is 44.3 degrees, departure is 33.7 degrees, and breakover is 25.4 degrees, allowing it to attain a ride height of 11.9 inches. With the exception of breakover, it defeats the Rivian R1T and the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon in every test.
The driver can customize the regenerative braking when the vehicle is in off-road mode. It should be noted that as soon as the throttle is released, an electric vehicle starts to stop efficiently. Because gas-powered vehicles may either soar into the skies or float aimlessly over the dunes depending on when the throttle is pulled, I’d rather drive the Hummer into some dunes. There are moments when something is just perfect for you. Whether the Hummer crashes and gets stuck at the peak or easily conquers the dune relies on it.
Even when the Hummer’s mechanical brakes are set to terrain mode, the pedal will still feel the same, because to the truck’s design. Unfortunately, while employing the mechanical brakes in this mode, all that stopping force goes to waste. While Terrain mode is ideal for low-speed rock crawling, GMC thought drivers would feel more in control if they could utilize the dependable mechanical brakes exclusively in this mode.
The Hummer uses outstanding computer engineering to distribute torque effectively to each wheel, even though the front and rear locking differentials are different from the Rivian R1T’s. When it comes to keeping the wheels turning at a consistent pace regardless of traction, the virtual rear locker is just like the mechanical front locker. The lack of lockers is due to the short path of my test drive; I noticed no more wheel spin after pushing the back into a few spins.
The four-wheel independent suspension system is largely responsible for the excellent ride quality of the Hummer, even on difficult terrain. I can relax in the heated and cooled chairs while keeping my head down. Easy access in and out of this roomy vehicle is provided by four strategically placed grab grips. 2027 GMC Hummer EV Interior
2027 GMC Hummer EV Fuel Economy
The Hummer’s weight makes it inefficient. With an anticipated range of 329 miles and a battery capacity of 205 kWh, the resulting efficiency is 1.6 miles per kWh. Both the 135-kW battery in the Rivian R1T and the long-range 131-kWh battery in the Ford F-150 Lightning are capable of achieving 2.3 miles per kWh.
It goes without saying that the whole driving range is reduced when driving on dirt. I am unable to provide a conclusive assessment due to my lack of off-road expertise; nonetheless, the computer showed that the truck’s efficiency had decreased to 1 mile per kWh at the end of the trail excursion, which corresponds to 205 miles of range. You sucked.
Unfortunately, slipstream efficiency is not something this vehicle is anticipated to possess. When it comes to electric vehicles (EVs), the Hummer is head and shoulders above the competition. Although it has certain problems, the new Hummer EV is ideal for those who like to give the impression that they are very busy or who have a lot of things to do.
2027 GMC Hummer EV Safety Features
When driven on pavement, the Hummer seems… average. Even with the car’s chunky shape and aggressive tires, the wind noise is tolerable. If you’d like to go all in, you may remove the roof panels. They are small, lightweight, and may be stored in the trunk with an extra connection.
The Edition is equipped with GM’s top-tier Super Cruise driver-assistance technology, which helps with highway navigation and adjusts the truck’s speed before curves. It’s a hands-free, eyes-up system.
It could be difficult to navigate metropolitan areas with a Hummer due to its massive blind spots. The most shocking thing about the Hummer, though, is how heavy it is. The 9,000-pound Hummer takes a lot longer to stop than what you’re probably used to, even with its excellent brakes.
