2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Specs, Dimensions, Release Date

The top hybrid trim levels of the eleventh-generation Honda Accord are the only ones that come with the most cutting-edge Google Built-In entertainment system. Fortunately, the newest Accord is a beautiful car. After forty years on American roads, Honda’s midsize sedan is encountering what may be its most challenging market to date, and it’s far from easy.

2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Price

Due to the industry’s haste to electrify despite a scarcity and the American consumer’s demand for SUVs and trucks, the tiny 2027 Honda Accord seems to be in a precarious situation. The most recent Accord, especially the updated Hybrid variants, is still an excellent option, which is fantastic news for Honda and everyone else looking for exciting yet practical cars. 2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Specs

Exterior & Interior

Even before its studio debut last year, I was a fan of the 2027 Accord for its sleek, contemporary styling. I am appreciative that the Honda design team created a straightforward sedan despite the present trend toward increasingly sophisticated and risky vehicle layouts. Starting with the fascia, the new generation ditches the chrome brow and brightwork in favor of a blacked-out grille and dark headlamps for a cleaner, more subdued look.

2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Dimensions

The new sedan is 2.7 inches longer overall and has a wider bonnet, yet it looks shorter and more compact than its predecessor. The revised Accord’s growth is highlighted by its 0.4-inch larger rear track, new horizontal taillights that span the trunk and almost merge in the center, and a roofline influenced by fastbacks, instead of the reverse.

The 19-inch wheels and 235/40R19 all-season tires that were standard on both the Sport-L and Touring trim levels that we tested looked great, and they added a touch of class to the Accord’s otherwise gloomy exterior. The Touring’s machine-cut faces amplify this combination.

(Every member of the crew is wearing a regular 17). A day spent zipping around the twisting back roads north of San Diego shows that the sedan is just as agile and enthusiastic as ever, even if the Accord has a more comfortable ride thanks to improved suspension and steering.

The new Accord’s interior is as minimal and unadorned as its exterior. The vehicle’s vents are encased in a cohesive, spacious design element by the horizontal cross-hatched grille. Its temperature control and two USB type-C connectors are situated right beneath the grill.

One of the best options is a hybrid model, which has a main screen of 12.3 inches and a digital instrument cluster of 10.2 inches. With the most recent update to Honda’s infotainment software integrated into an improved layout, we provide the largest Accord touchscreen to date. This version still has a volume control, but it’s a lot smaller, crammed under the screen, and a real pain to use.

On top You may replace the original navigation with Google Maps on a Honda Touring or above trim level using the Google Built-on infotainment software. A curated app selection for listening to podcasts, audiobooks, news, and music is now available to users thanks to the integration of the Google Play Store and Google Assistant, which is the default voice control.

Once users register into their Google account (by scanning a QR code or entering their username and password), they will be presented a list of recommended sites. These locations are inferred using data acquired from Gmail or Google Calendar in conjunction with historical driving habits. In situations when the internal 4G LTE signal strength is poor, Google Maps may choose to download and store map data automatically or at the user’s request.

With Google Built-In, you can still use your voice to operate your car’s functions even when you’re not looking at the screen on the dashboard. I could tell the car my preferences with voice-activated commands like “Hey Google, set the temperature to 69 degrees,” “set my seat heater to level 2,” or “set the volume to 20%,” all without taking my hands off the wheel or my sight off the road. Google Assistant may not be able to send messages, but it does have the ability to initiate phone calls with Google Built-In.

I see that some customers are wary of giving Google that much power over their dashboard, but it still doesn’t make sense that only one Accord trim level has Google Built-In. Plush features like wifi and USB connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all hybrid models, while the Sport, EX-L, and Sport-L trims continue to provide robust, big-screen gaming. 2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Specs

Engine & Performance

As with their newly revamped CR-V, Honda plans to electrify 50% of their Accords by 2027 using their two-motor hybrid system, which is their best engine choice. Because I was hoping for a plug-in hybrid version to come with the Prologue SUV next year, I am disappointed that Honda has decided to go forward with electrification instead of PHEVs.

2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Specs

With its all-wheel drive technology, the CR-V Hybrid is quite similar to the fourth-generation engine that powers the front-wheel drive Accord Hybrid. An upgraded 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle gas engine produces 204 hp, while a robust electric traction motor provides 247 lb-ft of torque.

Eco, Normal, Sport, and Individual are the four available driving modes. In order to optimize the vehicle’s performance, comfort, or efficiency, you may choose between several modes that modify the accelerator pedal, temperature settings, steering, and more.

In Normal or Econ mode, the engine is so silent that you won’t even hear it operating. With the gasoline engine fine-tuned in performance mode and Honda’s enhanced Active Sound Control switched on, the electric drive motor may reach its maximum power output. Unlike the hybrid’s characteristic steady RPM, which is more like a continuously variable transmission (CVT), the combustion engine’s RPMs rise and fall, making a more “normal” sound.

(From a technological standpoint, the two-motor series hybrid does not need a gearbox.) The Accord’s speakers can simulate a little bit of engine noise and performance revving thanks to Active Sound Control. In the end, it’s not bad; in fact, it’s rather good and intriguing, but it never quite seems real.

Thanks to the hybrid’s increased middle torque, responsiveness is much enhanced in both city and highway driving. This is terrific news since the performance is actually noticeable. In addition to six different driving modes, the Accord Hybrid’s paddle shifters let you to adjust the amount of regenerative braking.

Not surprisingly, given Honda’s hopes that this generation of hybrids will bring to more widespread use of battery power, the highest level of regeneration feels quite similar to pressing the accelerator pedal in an electric vehicle. The slow speed of around 5 mph is controlled by pressing down fully on the friction brake pedal, which is the only way to halt it in its tracks.

The EPA has projected 44 mpg for the hybrid Accord Sport, 41 mpg for the highway, and 46 mpg for the city, across all trim levels. The EX-L has better gas mileage thanks to its lighter construction and increased efficiency; it gets 48 MPG overall, 51 in the city, and 44 highway.

Although there was a lot of mountainous terrain over 150 miles, my trip computer still managed 45.3 mpg, which was slightly better than what the EPA estimated. Even though most of the outgoing leg was hilly, I managed 55 mpg on the largest downhill return leg.

Last but not least, I got to take a short 10-mile spin in the non-hybrid 2027 Accord. The 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque produced by the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine remain unchanged from the last version.

Recent combined fuel efficiency ratings are down one mpg from last year, coming in at 29 mpg overall, 32 mpg in the city, and 37 mpg on the highway. Just like hybrid vehicles, non-hybrid cars have a smaller 7-inch touchscreen in the center and don’t have any wireless capabilities like Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Nevertheless, the capability to connect via wired USB is still there.

In contrast to the more agile and feature-rich hybrids, the older, non-hybrid Accord (in EX trim) seems sluggish and underwhelming. Even more heartbreaking is Honda’s decision to stop producing the 2.0T Sport, the generation’s most potent trim level. 2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Specs

2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Safety Features

By the year 2027, nearly all driver assistance technology that comes standard with Honda Sensing will have been upgraded. The installation of more sophisticated video and radar sensors is mostly to blame. Advanced safety systems including as lane keeping assist with road departure mitigation, low-speed following, adaptive cruise control with traffic congestion help, and front collision avoidance with brake assist are included on all Accord models, even the base model.

2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Release Date

I was amazed by how consistently and reliably the adaptive cruise and lane keeping systems operated, even though my experience with them was limited. The basic package concludes with automatic high lights and better traffic sign recognition.

As a standard safety feature, parking distance sensors are included with the EX-L trim level. The Touring model also comes with low-speed brake control, an automated feature that helps keep you safe when parked by avoiding obstructions.

Honda has improved the Accord’s crashworthiness (particularly in the face of side and offset hits) and the ten airbags that come standard to make up for the times when drivers still need help from less advanced safety features.

2027 Honda Accord Hybrid Release Date & Price

When it comes to price and trim levels, the 2027 Honda Accord doesn’t mess around. Except with the base model, which some would find imposed, all of the new range’s trim levels come equipped with a hybrid system. However, the top hybrid models deliver a flawless experience for all generations.

At $28,390 (not including the $1,095 destination fee), the base Accord LX model is now the starting point for all modifications. It comes with the 1.5T non-hybrid engine.

The Sport ($32,990) has the hybrid engine and is the most expensive trim level; the EX ($30,705) is the next trim level down and comes with a few extra perks. At $38,985 (without counting optional extras), the tested Touring Hybrid is followed by the EX-L ($34,635) and Sport-L ($34,970) trim levels.

A leading contender among new sedans, the all-new 2027 Honda Accord boasts a modern look, a powerful engine, and state-of-the-art electronics.
